"Disc"y Business

I am often asked "what are the trends", which is interesting to answer when you are one of the designers setting the trends. I recently read something that made it quite clear to me that my success with these designs last year, are being talked about as a "trend" this year. The Disc. I had so much fun making these in many styles that we are back at it again this year. I love the Disc because it is a cross over from headpiece to mini hat and we make them on a comb or headband in 100's of colors. Easy to wear and still somewhat of a traditional "covered head".

Kentucky Derby "Hat of the Day"

We couldn't resist using my now famous "Thoroughbred Girl" hat. Originally designed for a friend of mine in the horse racing business, and then that same year it showed up in the Winner's Circle at the Kentucky Derby 2009. Kentucky Derby Hats...a few favorites!

A customer called me today to discuss a perfect Derby Hat, and wanted to know what was a "favorite". We decided to feature what we feel has been some favorites this year if that is what people want to know. Hats are so personal so of course what is a favorite for one, isn't for another...but these 2 are standouts.

Mela Rosa: by Carol Bader Design. This large red hat design is a Derby icon, and a proven design from her collection.

The black/White "Festivities" hat has been a recent favorite and one we carry in our stock hat collection on the Derby page for those looking for something fabulous, but need to watch the budget.
